Tenure-Track Faculty Position Opening in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Taiwan
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (DMSE) at National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, is the first, largest and most renowned DMSE in Taiwan. The department has strengths and interests spanning the full spectrum of materials research and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and highly supportive staff. We are now seeking candidates for tenure-track positions at all ranks, with appointments beginning in either February or August 2026. Faculty responsibilities include teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, conducting outstanding research, and contributing to departmental and university service.
- Position and Number of Openings: Full-time tenure-track faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor or above, multiple faculty positions available.
- Area of Expertise: Applicants with expertise in materials science and engineering or closely related fields are invited to apply.
- Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in Material Science and Engineering or the related field is required. Applicants must demonstrate outstanding research performance and the ability to teach core courses in English.

(1) Curriculum Vita (including educational and professional experiences, specialties, and proposed courses to teach)
(2) A copy of the Ph.D. diploma. For degrees obtained overseas, verification documents must be attached (if not available at the time of application, please submit within two months after the application deadline).
(3) Copies of transcripts from undergraduate and graduate programs. For overseas degrees, verification documents are also required (same timeline as above).
(4) List of publications, including journal rankings (e.g., N/M categories), impact factors, and citation counts. Please include reprints of selected key publications.
(5) Teaching and research statements.
(6) Three letters of recommendation. (Please provide a separate sheet with the names, titles, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of your referees.)
- Appointment Start Date: 2026/02/01 or 2026/08/01

- Salary: In addition to the standard compensation regulated by the Ministry of Education for public universities in Taiwan. newly appointed faculty members are eligible for a housing allowance of NTD$10,000 per month. Candidates with outstanding performance or first-time faculty appointees in Taiwan may receive an additional monthly salary of NTD$30,000 to NTD$60,000. The Shu-Jen Fund in the College of Engineering provides an additional NTD$20,000 per month to exceptional new faculty members with outstanding academic achievements.
- Outstanding candidates who qualify for the NSTC Outstanding Talent Recruitment Program or the Ministry of Education’s Yushan Fellow or Yushan Young Fellow programs will receive full support from the department during the application process.
